But the Government came out with the recent announcement, wherein an individual can now link his aadhaar with mobile number online as well. The online way of linking 12-digit number with mobile can be done via OTP mechanism either by SMS or IVRS call
Steps to Link Aadhaar with Mobile Number via SMS
Step 1: Text your Aadhaar number from your registered mobile number
Step 2: The service provider will do a demographic verification of the number
Step 3: Submit an OTP request to Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI)
Step 4: The UIDAI will then send an OTP to the mobile number
Step 5: An individual will then be required to send the OTP to the registered mobile number
Step 6: With that, the e-KYC process is complete

Step 1: Call 14546* from your mobile number
Step 2: Choose whether you are an Indian or an NRI
Step 3: Give your consent to re-verify Aadhaar by pressing 1
Step 4: Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number and confirm it by pressing 1
Step 5: An OTP is generated and sent to the registered mobile number
Step 6: Give consent to your operator to access your name, photo and DOB from UIDAI
Step 7: IVR reads out the last 4 digits of your mobile number
Step 8: If correct, enter the OTP received
Step 9: Press 1 to complete the process

Step 5: Type the captcha and Click on Send OTP
